In this project, I played a key role in establishing and managing the partnership between DistroKid, a leading music distribution platform, and On the Radar Radio Freestyles, a prominent YouTube series that showcases the talents of emerging rap artists through freestyle performances. The collaboration was designed to elevate DistroKid’s presence in the hip-hop community while providing a stage for fresh, rising talent to gain recognition.

A key responsibility of mine was selecting the artists for our partnered freestyles. I worked closely with the On the Radar team to identify and select notable emerging artists whose styles and energy would resonate with both the show’s audience and DistroKid’s core values. Artists such as DD Osama, Mike G, Flo Milli, and G Herbo were among the talented individuals I helped bring into the partnership, ensuring that each artist’s unique sound and creativity were well-represented.

In addition to artist selection, I also negotiated and secured ad placements within the series, ensuring that DistroKid’s brand was seamlessly integrated into the content. This partnership not only provided significant exposure to both the featured artists and DistroKid, but it also further solidified On the Radar as a leading platform for breakthrough talent in the hip-hop scene.

By managing both the artist curation process and the strategic elements of the partnership, I helped create a mutually beneficial collaboration that enhanced visibility for DistroKid, supported the careers of emerging artists, and continued to foster growth within the independent music community.
